What Is BATL | The Backyard Axe Throwing League?
We're BATL, the original Backyard Axe Throwing League. Our mission is to show people the power of being good to each other, using the axe as a tool to build community inspired by our backyard roots. BATL was created in our founder, Matt Wilson's backyard in 2006. What started as a personal passion sparked by a camping trip soon spread through word of mouth in Toronto, and today over 1 million people have experienced the thrill of throwing axes with us. Today we operate 15 locations across North America, and are immensely proud to have been the first organization in the world to pioneer the sport of urban axe throwing in leagues, walk-ins and private events such as parties and team building.
